My Carpet Cleaning Service has been Drying Out Wet Basement Walls in Potomac Maryland and the surrounding area for over 20 years. Over the last five years, we have been utilizing the wonders of Thermal Drying Technologies embodied inside the E-Tess units that we have purchased.
As an I ICRC Master Restoration Technician, I have been trained to identify the different categories of water losses and their implications as well. After doing a thorough moisture assessment, I provide a course of action to my clients that may or may not include in place drying of Carpeting & Padding as well as Baseboards & Walls or some combination in between.
If in place drying is called for, my tool of choice is one of my E-Tess units as the foundation of my drying system. Though I can perform in place drying without one is always easier to start with one in place and the jobs finish a lot faster as well. Otherwise, I need to use multiple dehumidifiers and turbo dryers in its place and manipulate equipment for hours and hours to make sure everything is drying out as desired in a timely manner.
Pictured above (to the left) you can see my plastic ducting around the lower portion of the perimeter wall of the basement tenting in the hot air being produced by my E-Tess unit. Pictured above (to the right) you can see the thermal image of the hot dry air traveling from the E-Tess unit along the wall and as it does so it’s acting like a hairdryer removing the moisture from the wall, insulation and framing behind it.
Using this method I can avoid having to remove the baseboards, opening the walls, venting them or removing wet drywall altogether, as well as rebuilding some of the wall and all the dust and painting associated with it. Without all this extra work the restoration is completed within a week as opposed to a few weeks of having your life and home in a mess.
